Above the expanse over their heads was what looked like a throne of sapphire, and high above on the throne was a figure like that of a man. I saw that from what appeared to be his waist up he looked like glowing metal, as if full of fire, and that from there down he looked like fire; and brilliant light surrounded him. Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. When I saw it, I fell facedown, and I heard the voice of one speaking.

Ezekiel 1:26-28

I got really excited when I read this, because Ezekiel really saw the LORD, and that's pretty awesome. This makes God seem so real-- not that I don't think God is real-- but a lot of times I find myself in prayer just kind of talking to the air, and I have to stop and really realize that I am talking to God and that He really is listening and He really does care and He really has the power ot answer my prayer and He really does answer my prayers. When you pray do you ever try to imagine what God looks like and where He is? God looks like a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day! and He's everywhere, not 8 bizillion miles away in some other dimension-- He's right here. I know sometimes God feels so far away because we can't see Him-- but we really can see Him, He's everything and everywhere, in all our answered prayers. He just doesn't look like what we expect Him to look like. He is so big, beyond our comprehension.

Search me, O God, and know my heart

See if there be harmful ways in me
Then cleanse me, change me,
and lead me in Your ways

Psalm 139

When He rolls up His sleeves
